Getting on with her duties the morning after, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, was scheduled to spend some time with the staff and patients at a children's hospice in Middlesex on Friday. And, as is usual for her, she threw herself totally into the event, no matter how silly she needed to be. I think that this is one of her greatest qualities.

For the occasion she wore her skinny jeans, a delightful grey wool coat from Reiss, and her hair lose. It looks good here. Not overdone. Just right. Sadly, she also wore the most revolting wedge booties I ever did see. They are from Russell and Bromley and cost a couple of hundred quid. I just don't understand why one would. The mystery of the Middleton shoe style continues. But otherwise, good girl.
