Ewa Sonnet Love
This past week has seen Kristen Stewart out and on show at numerous occasions. Which in part makes me happy as I have really started following her style and I get excited to see what she will do next. Only this week we have seen as many of these hits as we have her old misses. And I think we just need to get something out on the table. Between Kristen and her stylist, someone is over-loving on the sheer dress situation. We have seen just way too much of it and now we are done. You see this Erdem shorts/dress is interesting and edgy and all that, but it is also ugly. The pale blue satin is unforgiving and the twee floral fights — and loses — to the overarching concept of meshing (ha!) dress and shorts. This is a case of way too much substance over style.
And yet, the very next day Kristen was seen in more sheer. This time the black stripe effect of a Catherine Malandrino dress. And this one works. It's very nice. But look, we have seen Kristen in a variety of see-through frocks, gowns and jumpsuits. We get it. And even though this works, I am over it now. Stop with the sheer. Snooze fest. Thanks.
So you can imagine my delight at this far more out-there get up. I know, I know, Twitter was all aghast at the silly jogging shorts vibes. But I actually love it. It is so perfect for Kristen who always looks so much better in a cool, sporty ensemble than a gown. I think it is very 'now' and I love that she really doesn't care what you think. And while I do care what you think, I am going to go ahead and say I totes ADORE this Jonathan Simkhai affair. Do you? Can you?
And then we look at her off-duty style. And it all fits. This is when Kristen especially looks good. She can wear her comfy Dr Martens. She can mix up her sporty with grunge — her personal ideal. And she can look prettier than ever. Especially in that last look with the beige Nonoo sweater. How I love that sweater on her.
