2014 Golden Globes Red Carpet Trends: Shades of Green
There was black and white, there was black and gold, there was red. But aside from a few misguided bursts of yellow, the only other colour to make a statement on the 2014 Golden Globes red carpet last night was green. It was of course the colour of the year last year, so there was probably much to choose from. The one that did it best in my opinion, was the majesty of Dame Helen Mirren, who wore a beaded Jenny Packham number that looked sexy and beautiful at the same time. And the hair and jewels are cool too.
Taylor Schilling from Orange is the New Black made a gorgeous green statement in her draped silk Thakoon dress. I think that this is one of the prettiest dresses on the carpet, with a softness that suits her slim frame and makes it all look less try-hard. Very well played.
Reese Witherspoon also did green. Hers is by Calvin Klein and I didn't love it on her. It looked a smidge sporty for the Golden Globes. But I did think that it was nice from the back. What do you think? Does it work?
