W Magazine: The Movie Issue 2014
There are six brand new covers for the 2014 Movie Issue of W Magazine. And they feature five of our favourite actresses — and Matthew McConaughey. Of course McConaughey is a cover hustler and has had a magnificent breakout year as he has moved from rom coms to excelling at drama. Good on him.

But really my favourite thing about these covers is that they are not over-glossy, high-fashion situations. They are rough and stripped back and showing sides of the actresses that you don't usually see. Like Cate Blanchett laughing her head off, or Amy Adams in ruins of tears. Amazing.

Of course Jennifer Lawrence is in there. This is her third consecutive nominations awards season and I am little concerned that she is getting over exposed — but that never did Oprah any harm, to be fair, and she does a very different sort of cover than for her own O Magazine. And I like it.
And then there is the first international cover for our own African girl, Lupita Nyong'o. And doesn't she look incredible? Love her. Love this cover.

Inside the issue there are even more images of movie stars like Olivia Wilde, Amanda Seyfried and Scarlett Johansson. I love this smorgasbord of pared down movie celebrity. It makes me happy. You?
