Nicole Kidman had a good day on Wednesday in Cannes 2012. She had an even better day yesterday when it came to outfits. I mean she did her photo call in bold red Antonio Berardi — which saw and raised the stakes from her lovely beige lace L'Wren Scott from the day before. Fitted, elongated to match Nicole's stature, and showing off a fabulous, new found style from this famous red-head.

She went on to dazzle even more later in the evening in this extraordinary gown from Lanvin. The soft blush colour was a triumph and Nicole looked magnificent.

The back of the dress, the drape in the skirt, the sheer panels that allow a glimpse of leg without literally getting her legs out — this is the epitome of a contemporary red carpet gown. The makeup was a prefect fit and for once, Nicole fought the need to add on some random accessory. I would have liked it even more without the earrings, but aside from that it is amazing.
