Even though we can only get Banana Republic inside Stuttafords here in South Africa, I am a big fan. Almost all the silk pieces I bought in the US and UK are still in my wardrobe years later. They just work for everyday life and feeling pretty as one goes about one's day. Anyway, they are launching a new line for the summer by designer Trina Turk.

This line is a 'Palm Springs' vibe and was shot on supermodel Coco Rocha (best friend of African Angel Behati Prinsloo). The images were inspired by the photographer Slim Aarons who shot celebrities and socialites, most famously lounging around pools and bars in their sophisticated summer togs. He never ever used a stylist or make-up artists in his work — something that I find fascinating and have been known to marvel over his images, trying to fathom how an outfit just happened to look that good. Anyway I am a sucker for his style, and love that it has been revived for this campaign.
