Last night saw the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games take place, with the British Royal Family represented by two of the Games most ardent supporters, Prince Harry and his sister-in-law Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge. The latter has been to sporting events in support of TeamGB almost every single day of the Games.

For the occasion, Kate wore a high street dress from retailer Whistles. She has worn the dress before with a navy blazer. But it is fresh because she left off the cover up and added a black belt to the dress. I think that it was a perfect way to end her low-key approach to the Games. Never upstaging. Always engrossed. Always patriotic. Two weeks of perfect play. In fact give the girl her own gold!

One of the other outfits I really liked was worn this last weekend of the Games. She supported the British women's hockey team, and wore the uniform vest — but this one was sleeveless and a little low cut. I know! She paired it with a cute white pleated skirt and belt in a style that we haven't seen since a year or so before the wedding. It is youthful and refreshing and cute, no?

We have established by now that those awesome sunglasses she has taken to wearing at the sports events are in fact by Gucci. Yum.

Watching Kate watch the Olympics has been a lesson in being present and engaged in the moment. With a range of facial expressions and gestures making it absolutely clear she wasn't there for the cameras but for her country and for sport, Kate has done as much for encouraging the enjoyment of the Games as many of the minor athletes. I am super impressed with her right now.
