2013 Primetime Emmy Awards Red Carpet: Worst Dressed
As with every red carpet, there are the winners and then there are the losers. You would have thought that Julie Bowen, in her pale Zac Posen would have been a winner. Her Modern Family show certainly was. The colour is so right and yet the fit is so wrong. Just SO WRONG. Grrr. Bad fit makes me shouty because these are custom dresses. Surely custom means PROPERLY FITTED?? Zosia Mamet from Girls also was smart enough to get a dress custom made. By Honor. SERIOUSLY? Why the hell are her boobs wearing a Zoro mask? Remove that bib altogether and maybe we can start talking. And then there was Amanda Peet. How I have adored her for such a long time. She is wearing another of my favourite designers, Erdem. And yet I have never seen such an un-Erdem dress ever. This is like five trends in one. How many vibes can we have going on in one thing?? Explain yourself, lady, please.
I realise that Lena Dunham's Prada dress hit many people's best dressed list. I honestly have no idea why. Yes, it is vibrant and cool. But in when your head looks like it is floating above your body in a head-shrinking kind of way, you know that maybe your proportions may be off a bit. The divine Leslie Mann wore a weird J.Mendel dress that I really didn't like for her. She looks great in pretty and in bold colour. She does not look great in a nappy. Tis all. And then we come back to our favourite friend, fit. 30 Rock's Jane Krakowski usually really brings it to a red carpet. This is just a mess. Why is is bagging around her belly in that unforgivable way?? No. Just no. Bad.
