Kate Bosworth's Wedding Dress by Oscar de la Renta
Kate Bosworth married Michael Polish this past weekend on a ranch in Montana, USA. Yesterday we started to get a view of the wedding dress, which was designed by Oscar de la Renta and featured a GIGANTIC train — eight foot long and 16 foot wide. For reals.
Martha Stewart Weddings did the planning and they released the first two official images of the couple looking adoringly at each other during the ceremony. I'll tell you what I really like — that beautiful, minimalist swoop of a neckline. So clean. So beautifully done. That's the best part of the dress for me.
Kate was definitely going for clean with her dress — no embellishments — with the only impact being the sheer size and volume of the fabric at the back. That was where they chose to bring in the drama. And they succeeded, but no wonder the chick had to change into something else for the reception. I image it was pretty hard to move in this dress.
There are loads of pictures floating about of Kate trying on the dress for the first time. I can't imagine how this must have felt. I know that if I ever got to try on a custom Oscar de la Renta number like this, I would be weeping hysterically and ruin the whole moment. So props to Kate for holding it together.
Kate and her new husband headed straight back to LA after the wedding, arriving at LAX in a cute spriggy print dress and boots which is much more how we love Kate — all awesome style and quirky edge. She looks happy too. And pretty.
I worry about how skinny this one is. I worry because she has such phenomenal natural style, and so many young women look up to her as a result. As they should. I just hope they realise that they don't need to have concave thighs, as Kate did yesterday, in order to look super awesome. Aside from that, loving that skirt. Do you?
