I absolutely adore the fact that the neckline echos that of her wedding dress. It is like a gift to the people of Singapore — 'look guys, here is your version of my really, really, really amazing dress.' I'd be happy with that.
And the shape is just wonderful on her figure. Blessed with a lithe, athletic frame, the peplum detail and full skirt, lends Kate some lovely feminine shape.
But we need to discuss those shoes. Stop it. Just stop it. I know Kate was planting trees and wandering through the Rolls Royce factory where she started their engines, so to speak, but still. No excuse for those monstrous wedges. Even if they do cost nearly three hundred pounds a pop. Blergh.
Luckily (?) Kate reverted back to her familiar LK Bennett nude court shoes for the rest of ever. First she paired them with a delightful geometric printed RAOUL dress and slip — with a cute tulip sleeve detail. I think that this look is fabulous on her. Pretty, feminine and yet still very modern. I think it lends her a freshness that isn't anchored in 'princess pretty' for a change. Good one.
And don't you just love it that Kate is always just having a great time. I know I always say it, but it's true. It is always awesome to see someone enjoying their job so much.
Finally, for the evening reception, Kate popped her nude heels on with an very pretty floral printed and pleated silk Erdem dress. Kate has worn Erdem several times, but this is the first time it hasn't been a custom shift dress — rather it is actually derived from a runway look and is soft and flowing.
I do wonder if all this softness in her wardrobe is indicative of the rumoured pregnancy. Avoiding the strictness of the shift dress would be a clever disguise in the early months. Or she may just be feeling a bit more girlie. Either way, I like it very much. Great designers, excellent dresses, superb face all day on the second day of the tour. Pity about the shoes. As ever.
