Every so often I will connect with a celebrity in a way that makes me really believe that they are my mates. Hence the formation of my fantasy fashion book club. Cat Deeley is one of those. She and I met when she was presenting SMTV/CDUK on British television on a Saturday morning. Together with those Geordie tinkers Ant and Dec. And I remember very well her presenting stint all those years ago with Patrick Kielty on Fame Academy. I loved them both. And this weekend, in a secret ceremony in Rome, these two delightful humans got married. And I may have shed a little tear of happiness.

It doesn't hurt that Cat presents my favourite EVER TV show — US So You Think You Can Dance. Or that she dresses magnificently and in such accessible style. And that she is besties with designer Matthew Williamson. Did he design the wedding dress? Or was it a more recent favourite Tadashi Shoji? Either way, Cat looked incredible. And so bloody happy. Those of us who know her well — oh ok, follow her on twitter — had an inkling something was going on when she tweeted this picture after the Emmy Awards (dressed in Andrew Gn) with the caption, "And they lived...happily ever after." I may have shed a little tear then too. Sigh. I am an old romantic really.
