Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, In Reiss Coat
Yesterday, here on the blog, I was annoyed with the lovely Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge. Probably unjustifiably. I mean, what's it any of my business how she wears her hair? But today I am trying to put it aside. Struggling, but trying. Because those damn curls are still flopping about as he and her husband inspect a new football facility in the North East of England yesterday. Accompanied by the English Football team. Prince William is their patron.
So let's focus on the positive. First, that coat. It is by Reiss — a high street retail brand with quirky cool classics. And it looks fabulous. A perfect fit. Beautiful construction. An interesting funnel neck. And obviously not too fancy for the event — it being a football situation. Good.
Also, if I know anything about Kate's style, she would have added that belt herself from her own wardrobe. The girl likes to give herself some shape, and frequently belts her coats. Nice one.
Finally, I love looking at this picture because it shows just how teeny tiny Ashley Cole is. I always knew he was a small man, as a human, but it is especially funny to see how physically tiny he is too. Ha!
But then my eyes can't help but see those boots. I hated them last winter. And the winter before that. And I still really, really hate them. They belong back in the early 2000s where there were found. We really have such a footwear problem with this girl. Perfect dresser. Epic fail when it comes to shoes. Grrrr.
But of course the lady was having a whale of a time as ever. Charming all the silly footie boys with her smiles and down-to-earth attitude. And that's what it is all about isn't it? Good girl. Despite the footwear and hair.
