Late last week the flame-haired actress and beauty — and cover star of the latest US Vogue for December 2013 — Jessica Chastain, hosted a conversation with the mighty Kaiser Karl Lagerfeld. For the occasion she wore Chanel, of course.

Naturally it was the latest Chanel. In on-trend black and white. I love the hair. And the fact that she really seemed to be honouring the man, as the title of the event stated: An Evening Honouring Karl Lagerfeld.

Kaiser Karl spoke about his first assistant job at age 17, through his work at the House of Fendi, through to his work now, his art collection, his fragrances, his cat and his assorted passions in photography, history, interiors and his vast collection of music. How I wish I had been there.
