Despite my mate Alexa Chung's best efforts to make it happen, the pinafore has been lurking on the edges of the trend scene for ages. Now Kate Bosworth has got in on the action. She was photographed yesterday in a gorgeous impressionist print pinafore as she promoted her new movie Homefront.

Paired with those awesome silver courts (I want) and a plain white button down shirt, Kate looked as good as I have seen her of late. Especially since she kept her make up soft and pretty with a coral lip, and her hair nice and simple. Expect to get something similar from Topshop in the near future. No diggity, no doubt.

Kate had been spotted in a cream and white buckle dress on Monday. Also nice. But not as good as the pinafore, right? What do you think? Are you going to brave the pinny this summer?
