Oh how happy I am that the Obamas are back in the White House for four more years. I knew theoretically I was happy when it happened. But it was only this morning when I knew why. Look. Michelle Obama in a gorgeous dress. Keeping the print trend alive in a dress by Zero + Maria Cornejo. Stunning. And belted, as she does, with her ancient studded Alaia belt that she has been wearing for at least the past four years. And that new hot shoe with the ankle restraints. Let's look at this. If you don't think that our fashion trends are influenced by Mrs Obama, think again. All of these elements (except the ankle restraints) are her trademark vibes. She introduced us to them four years ago. And now we all wear studded belts. And printed dresses. And recycle key pieces. Ahem. Just saying. But fingers crossed the ankle restraints buck the trend, or I am in serious cankle trouble y'all.
