No matter where I look — and I have several sources — I can't say for certain who designed the festive red dress that Lena Dunham wore to the premiere of the movie This is 40 but I can say that it looks an awful lot like a Valentino dress. JLo wore a pink version earlier in the year with longer sleeves.
However, I am going to go ahead and assume it is in fact NOT Valentino as I simply can't see indie hipster girl Lena wearing such a designer. But the little bows tying on the ass-cape is an exact replica.

Lena has got rave review for this look. Which just irritates me because it is patronising. Sure, she is lovely and smiley and pretty. But the dress doesn't fit her. And looks baggy and crumpled and lumpy. The shoes are dated and weird on Lena (too delicate?). The colour is great. But a dress that fits properly in this colour would have been a whole lot better. I hate it when a girl like Lena gets special dispensation because she is cool right now. No. The dress is certainly better than the shirt with no pants that she wore. But when she starts wearing dresses that fit her properly is when I am going to get on this style bandwagon. OK? Who's with me?
